On the second Monday of each month (except July and August), The LVA hosts a speaker on a military-related topic. Programs are held at the Cary Memorial Library and are free and open to the public. Non-veterans and community members are welcome! Coffee and conversation start at 12:45 p.m. with coffee generously donated by Starbucks on Bedford Street. The program begins at 1:15 p.m. Programs range from veterans’ personal stories of military service to a historical analysis of a military campaign to a medical discussion of the effects of PTSD to perspectives on the current international situation. Recent speakers have included current and former military, noted academics, authors, and public servants. Our programs are live streamed to veterans in long term care at the Bedford VA Medical Center.
